- In 2001, more than 29.4 million Americans said they had no religion — more than double the number in 1990, and more than Methodists, Lutherans and Episcopalians all added up — according to the American Religious Identification Survey 2001 (ARIS).
- Residents of the Northeast (39%) remain one of the most church resistant in the US. (Barna 2007)
- An estimated 73 million adults are presently unchurched. When teens and children are added, the total swells to roughly 100 million Americans. (Barna 2007)

In Thom Rainer’s book, Surprising Insights from the Unchurched, the following data was discovered:Less than 4% of American churches have a significant evangelism ratio of 20 church members to 1 convert
The rest has an average of 85:1
This must change if we are to fulfill the Great Commission!
